Making an Appointment
When you call to schedule, we will make every effort to accommodate your preferred time. Your appointment is reserved just for you so Dr. Steve Duke, Dr. Craig Van Alfen, and our team have the time to devote to your needs. We respect your time and work to stay on schedule to limit waiting. If you are running late, please let us know as soon as possible, and if you are unable to keep your appointment, please call at least 48 hours in advance.
What to Expect When You Arrive
Our friendly staff will greet you in the lobby and provide new patient paperwork, including a health questionnaire, insurance information, and contact information. We will also share information about our office and how we protect your privacy. New patients are scheduled 20 minutes early to allow time to complete any necessary forms.
Your Initial Examination
Your initial exam takes around one hour. Our team will ask about your oral hygiene routine, listen to your health concerns, and get to know your goals. We believe in educating patients and empowering them to make good choices, so we will show you how to properly care for your teeth and offer suggestions as needed. Our hygienist will clean your teeth, and then Dr. Steve Duke, DDS, or Dr. Craig Van Alfen, DDS, will complete your dental exam and recommend any treatment.
Pain Concerns
We work to keep every patient comfortable and minimize pain as much as possible. Before a dental procedure, our dentists will discuss your pain tolerance and create a pain management plan with you. For patients with dental anxiety, we offer sedation dentistry and gentle laser care with the WaterLase iPlus, so you can get back to your life faster.

Dental Insurance & Financial Policy
We accept a variety of insurance providers and work to accommodate our patients’ requests. Please call (801) 255-7101 to see if we currently work with your insurance provider. Our pricing structure is designed to make high-quality dental care accessible, and if your insurance will not cover all of your treatment, we will work with you to find a payment solution – with or without insurance.
Ask our team about payment options, which may include cash, check, financing, and credit cards. Patients without insurance can also save with our Dental Health Program.
